Ingredients The key unique ingredients of Honey VENZTM Pollen are:
Every 250 gram jar of Honey VENZTM Pollen contains: 6.5 mg NZ Bee Venom VENZ™; 1.5 % Bee Pollen Extract. Bee venom dosage is comfortable and safe, compared to traditional bee sting therapy. The dosage may vary, depending on the patient’s health condition/fitness level.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ACTIVE INGREDIENTS. BEE VENOMBee venom is a product secreted by a special gland in the body of working honeybees. Bee venom contains many powerful healing components with unique pharmacological properties. These include 11 peptides, 5 enzymes, 3 physiologically active amines, carbohydrates, lipids and amino acids. Bee venom VENZTM as a food supplement
For the first time in New Zealand a new health product with bee venom for oral use has been developed and produced by ApiHealth NZ Ltd . This is Manuka Honey with bee venom for human consumption. This products provide an alternative method of achieving the same health benefit of bee sting therapy, but without the pain.
Production technology has been developed and patented by ApiHealth (NZ patent #333790). Dr. Nikolai Nikolaev suggested using dry bee venom powder VENZTM for making honey based products and developed the technology of mixing both liquid and dry honey with dry bee venom. The safe and beneficial health dosage of bee venom in the products was scientifically substantiated, as outlined below. This technology was recognized as innovative (NZ patent #333790). The main advantage of this technology is the possibility of standardization of bee venom dosage in a final product. Another advantage is preservation of biologically active components of honey and bee venom and their healing properties during a long period of time. How does bee venom work?
Bee venom peptides have systemic action: anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-pyretic, stimulating vascular permeability. There are different mechanisms of bee venom action in the body – indirectly through hormone system and directly on cardiovascular system.
1. Indirectly, through hormone system. The healing effect of Bee venom is caused by its stimulating the function of adrenal gland indirectly through hypophysis. Due to this stimulation process more adrenal hormones such as cortisone and hydrocortisone are generated in blood. These hormones provide healing effect, increasing resistibility of the body against various unfavourable factors. But bee venom healing action not only connected with stimulation of adrenal gland 2. Bee venom effects cardiovascular system directly.
Russian scientists have discovered that bee venom contributes to capillary vessels and small artery distention, increasing the blood surge to the organs and promoting metabolism improvement. Since bee venom increases the content of haemoglobin and leukocytes in blood and decreases blood thickness and coagulability, it can be very helpful for people having susceptibility to trombophlebitis. Bee venom promotes decrease of cholesterol content in blood, provides tonic effect for a heart muscle, and decreases blood pressure. It improves patients overall state of health, appetite and sleep, increases vitality. It is good for body strengthening and pain relief.( Krylov,1995 )
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT BEE POLLEN As gathered by the honey bee pollen is a very beneficial natural food and promoter of good health, which has been used by man for many centuries. No other natural product on earth could compete with bee pollen in the level of nutritional value. It is rich with natural components crucially important for human's body metabolism and well being. Bee
pollen should not be confused with the pollen that is blown by
the wind and is a common cause of allergies. Allergy-causing
pollen is called anemophiles; it is light and easily blown by
the wind. Bee pollen is heavier and stickier, and is collected
off of bees' legs by special devices placed at the entrance to
hives. It is called entomophiles or "friends of the insects,"
and will rarely cause allergy symptoms. Chemical Composition of Bee Pollen (per 100 parts) from "Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Propolis and Honey", by Rita Elkins, M.A. Amino Acids

Bee pollen digestible properties However along with these facts it is well known already, that bee pollen is a very indigestible food. If you swallow pollen grains whole, they pass through your digestive system almost intact. In other words, untreated pollen grains are of little nutritional value and could even cause an allergic reaction if an individual happens to be intolerant to that particular pollen variety. It is caused by the absence of special ferments in the human body, which are able to destroy and digest the pollen casings. That is why lately there have been developed a number of new technologies for breaking the pollen shells to make the useful components of bee pollen more digestible. Bee Pollen extract Perhaps the better-known pollen product is bee pollen, which has been used as a tonic for centuries. Another pollen product, pollen extract, is beginning to become known for helping to maintain urogenital health. A pollen extract should not be confused with bee pollen. Bee pollen is gathered from bees and remains much as it was gathered as "whole pollen." In a pollen extract, the pollen is gathered from plants and then is extracted in the laboratory. One of the pioneers of pollen extracts is Gosta Carlsson, a 79-year-old Swedish researcher. Carlsson has devoted his life, beginning in the mid-1920's when he was a young boy, to the study of pollen.
There have been many studies, both animal studies and clinical trials, published on the benefits of pollen extracts for men's health. Many of scientific data on pollen extract focuses on three physiological effects: Smooth muscle contraction, anti-inflammatory action, and effects on enzymes (1,2,3,4,5). Pollen extract is superior to saw palmetto because it works through several mechanisms, not just one. This mean that users may experience greater benefits, more quickly, through pollen extract. But this truth is the anti-inflammatory effect, the antioxidant effect, the smooth muscle relaxing effect of the lower pollen extracts are extremely important as part of their overall influence on the prostate. ApiHealth NZ Ltd developed new technology of destruction of bee pollen casings and also developed extraction technology. Our new unique active bee pollen destruction and extraction technology represents a major advance in making the full benefits of pollen available to the human body. ApiHealth bee pollen extract goes through a number of filtration steps and concentrates. What is the uniqueness of ApiHealth Bee Pollen extract ? 1. High
degree of Bee Pollen casings destruction.
Comparative
photomicrographs taken before and after the ultrasound processing
of Bee Pollen showed that the degree of Bee pollen casings disruption
is around 95%. (See Pictures attached). By doing this we made
the useful contents of bee pollen grains highly accessible for
further extraction or consumption. For expansion of the shelf life and preservation of useful properties of Bee Pollen the disruption of bee pollen is made in a special hydro alcoholic solution. This process does not affect biological activity of Bee Pollen useful components. Stability of the obtained solution is quite high and the shelf life will become much longer. Another advantage of the process used is sterilization of the obtained bee pollen extract, elimination of any micro flora, living in the surface of bee pollen grains. Extract is safe in terms of its being a carrier for any animal or plants diseases. 3. High degree of extraction of active bee pollen components. To increase concentration of extracted valuable components from disrupted bee pollen we used multi-staged extraction process with use of the series of solutions with further evaporation. From the scientific sources (Cristina Mateescu, Doina Barbalescu, Anna Cristea, Apimondia Congress, 1997) it is known that even after extraction of not disrupted raw bee pollen almost all useful components are getting into the solution; however the percentage of them in the extract is not so high. Since in our method almost 95% of the outer casings of bee pollen are disrupted (see the pictures), we can assume that the percentage of the extracted bee pollen substances in our case will be at the level of around 80%. 4.
Allergic components removal. This process enabled the full benefits of the pollen to be available to the user; that the product remains stable over a long shelf life given correct storage conditions and has proven strongly resistant to oxidation which can be a problem in other processed pollen products.

Healing properties of Bee Pollen extract Pollen extract provides the following general physiological effects: (Clouatre, Dallas, 1997; Kimura, Masayasu and other, 1986; Buck,A.C. R.W.M.Rees,and L.Ebeling (1990)
"Helps to flush out the impurities and toxins that constantly pile up in capillaries from stress, the taking of drugs, and exposure to the various pollutants of modern societies". MANUKA Honey Manuka honey is a superior treatment for wounds and infections. Manuka honey is gathered in New Zealand from Manuka bush, Leptospermum scoparium, which grows uncultivated throughout the country. Research by Dr. Peter Molan MBE of Waikato University has shown that Manuka honey has very potent anti-bacterial activity and very effective in destroying many stains of bacteria. HOW TO TAKE Manuka VENZ TM Pollen The Bee Venom concentration in one jar of the honey is 25 ppm, which equals to half a bee sting in each teaspoon of honey. These doses are comfortable and safe, compared to traditional bee sting therapy. The dosage may vary, depending on the patient’s health condition/fitness level. We would recommend the first intake should be half teaspoon of honey with venom (0.25 sting) taken without any food or drink. This initial dose is 4 times lower than one sting, and is specifically designated in accordance with BV Therapy requirements. The dose is much more comfortable and safe when compared to a physical and painful Bee sting Therapy plan. If no allergic reaction occurs, increase the dosage gradually up to 2-3 teaspoons daily depending on your condition. Please, don't take any food or drink together with the honey, as long as stomach enzymes will destroy all bee venom components. Keep honey in mouth until it will be completely dissolved. The major advantage of creamed honey as a carrier is that its consistency helps to increase the absorption in the mouth, and, therefore, the healing effect of the bee venom product is much higher.
PRECAUTION:
People who have allergic reactions to bee sting or bee pollen should seek medical advice before using Manuka VENZTM Pollen.
