Mulolo

Oxygenator and Regulator of the Cellular Metabolism

Traditionally used as a restorative tonic in Africa, Mulolo is reputed to provide a broad spectrum of beneficial effects. Considered to possess both detoxifying and nutritive properties, it is said to be of general assistance in the management of conditions such as neoplasia, dermatitis, infection, or gastrointestinal upset, especially when these conditions represent chronic degenerative processes. Made from the outer peel (the "cortex") of a vegetable, Mulolo is believed to be rich in vitamins and "oligo-elements", i.e., a wide variety of minerals in a naturally balanced and bio-available form that facilitates absorption and utilization.

There are several proposed mechanisms of action for Mulolo, one being that it stimulates the intake of oxygen at an "organic" level, however it also suggested that this effect is mediated by a system of checks and balances that help the cell optimize its use of oxygen. Due to its nutrient dense composition, Mulolo is expected to posses significant antioxidant activity, protecting all of the body's cells from oxidative and destructive free radicals caused by common pollution and everyday stress. The combination of antioxidant properties with the ability to regulate cellular oxygen intake is a likely clue to how Mulolo works on conditions like cancer, where it has been reported to prevent negative processes such as uncontrolled cellular oxidation.

Mulolo also has a reputation as a "vasodilatol" i.e. a substance that opens up the blood vessels and encourages greater blood flow, and generally lowering the blood pressure, however this effect is not believed to occur when it is not needed. Another important aspect of this plant is its purported ability to rebalance excessive putrefaction in the gastrointestinal system, where it has been used as a digestive tonic. Due to the nature of gastrointestinal putrefaction and its ability to increase levels of several toxins in the bloodstream, it is often associated among wholistic healers as a core problem in chronic degenerative conditions. Mulolo's ability to work on the core problem of digestive function would make it a perfect choice for long standing complaints, physical lassitude, nervous exhaustion, or general weakness.
